Over 30 municipalities are receiving financial support worth 21 million euro for the implementation
of the first phase of a Phare project for support of regional tourism development through related infrastructure, Deputy Regional Development Minister Dimcho Mihalevski told a news conference on Thursday.

The project includes a total of 24 contracts, 12 of which for improvement of the road infrastructure, 10 for rehabilitation of water supply and sewerage infrastructure and two for construction supervision, BTA reported.

Mihalevski said that the second phase of the project is going to be launched in within a few weeks and its budget will be half of the sum under the first phase.

He also said that a year ago, before the last negotiations of the Phare financial memoranda, 180 municipalities have defended projects under this program in the Regional Development Ministry.

Over 90 projects have already been submitted under the Regional Development Operational Program, Mihalevski also said.
