The average gross monthly wage in public-financed medical and health facilities is increased to
520.89 leva (266.32 euors) from 452.95 leva, the Council of Ministers decided on Thursday, approving a supplement to Ordinance 175 of 2007, the Government Information Service said.

The change enters into force as of May 1. It will increase the average gross monthly wage in health care by 15 per cent, BTA added.

The increase will affect 17,000 people working in medical and health facilities financed by the Health Ministry, such as emergency treatment centres, state psychiatric hospitals and homes for medical and social care for children.

The funds necessary for the increase will be provided at the expense of the Health Ministry budget.
