Deputy prime Minister and Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov told the media on Sunday that the prosecuting authority had been petitioned about violations committed by ex-ministers and that he expects their indictment within a few weeks. At the moment some additional investigation is carried out into some of the charges.

Tsvetanov was in Stara Zagora to attend the opening of an information office of the MEP from GERB Iliana Ivanova.

The probe of the Interior Ministry commission into the operation of the former director of the Stara Zagora Regional Police Directorate, Toncho Mihailov, has already produced results confirming abuse of powers, Tsvetanov said. There is undeniable evidence of Mihailov involvement with local mobsters detained for using fake excise duty stamps on 9,000 bottles of illegal strong drinks.

Tsvetanov confirmed he had been informed about Bulgarian producers reports about illegal imports of grapes from Macedonia

He said that the IDs of Bulgarians would be replaced starting in March next year. The For this purpose the Interior Ministry's regional directorates are to be provided with new software and computers.
