The newly elected National Assembly will not have a summer recess, Parliament Chairperson Tsetska Tsacheva told reporters on Tuesday. She said plenary sessions may not be scheduled for some days but the permanent parliamentary committees will continue to debate bills.

GERB will have nine chairpersons and 15 deputy chairpersons of the parliamentary committees in the 41st National Assembly, GERB MP Iskra Fidossova told reporters on Tuesday.

As a rule, GERB should have had 20 deputy chairs of committees but the party decided to give them to other parties.

The Blue Coalition will appoint two heads of parliamentary committees while the Order, Lawfulness and Justice party, Ataka, the Coalition for Bulgaria, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms will appoint one committee chairperson each.

The parliamentary committees for combatting corruption and for control over the State Agency for National Security will have rotating chairpersons.

On Wednesday Parliament is expected to the vote the composition of the permanent committees and change of some of their names to correspond to the designation of the new ministries.
