Last week the largest retail chain in Europe - Carrefour signed a lease contract for 11,000 square meters within the under construction mall Galeria Plovdiv.

The official opening of the largest mall in Southern Bulgaria - Galeria Plovdiv is expected for March 2010. Carrefour will be the anchor tenant along with many other retail brands.

Mall Galeria Plovdiv is located in the eastern area of Plovdiv, with a total of 127,000 sq.m. of built-up area. The gross leasable area is 51,000 sq.m. (43,000 sq.m. of retail space and 8,000 sq.m. of offices), and has over 1,300 parking lots.

Galeria Plovdiv is based on the concept "city within the city" - everything under one roof at affordable prices - from food and drinks, fashion, accessories, household goods, white and black electronics in addition to other leisure and entertainment facilities (including bowling).

Currently the final works are taking place in Galeria Plovdiv and works have begun in the premises of Carrefour, reported by Regent's Property Advisors, the exclusive agent's of the mall Galeria Plovdiv.

Carrefour is the largest chain of fast moving consumer goods in Europe and second largest in the world after the U.S. based Wal-Mart. Carrefour has over 15,000 company-operated and franchised stores in 35 countries, Gross sales of over 108 billion euro and 490,000 employees.
