The members of the Union of Brewers Bulgaria sold a total of 448,551 hectoliters of beer in March 2008, data provided to Profit.bg show.

Beer sales in the first two months of 2008 totaled 454,338 hl, while the sales for the first quarter of the year amounted to 902,889 hl.

Zagorka and Kamenitza led the way with 142,219 and 135,051 hl sold in March, respectively. The sales of Carlsberg Bulgaria stood at 120,570 hl.

The three major players sold a total of 804,991 hl of beer in the first quarter of 2008, accounting for 89.16% of the overall sales. Zagorka once again tops the ranking with 296,473 hl of beer sold for the period, followed by Carslberg Bulgaria and Kamenitza with 267,134 and 241,380 hl, respectively.

Boliarka occupied the number four spot with beer sales in the amount of 80,006 hl, while Lomsko Pivo's sales totaled 17,896 hl for the period.
