The malls in Belgrade will increase from two currently to six in the next 2-3 years, Serbian newspapers reported today.

The first of the four new malls will be in Novi Belgrade and will occupy an area of 30,000 sq m. Delta City 67 will offer a supermarket, bowling, cinema hall, parking, as well as 120 small and medium-sized shops.

The building company Delta Holding also plans to build a mall, called Delta City Autokompanda, which will be situated in the area of the same name and will occupy an area of 70,000 sq.meters. The company will also build a mall in Novi Sad, Serbia and Montenegro’s second biggest city.

Until 2009 European Construction will construct a mall in Usche, and Israel’s Ashtrom plans to construct an office and commercial center on Radjiceva Str., one of Belgrade central alleys.

The four new malls are expected to expand the local market by 163,000 sq meters. Currently there are only two malls in Serbia’s capital – Mercator and Immocentar with a total area of 28,000 sq meters.
