A long and interesting week not only for the capital market has come to an end. Along with the many notifications of general shareholders’ meeting and the decisions of ones that have already taken place, the tension surrounding a leading Bulgarian bank was also in the spotlight this week.

All is well when it ends well. Especially after optimism prevailed on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange during most all of the last six days.

All four indexes ended Saturday’s session with gains. The SOFIX blue-chip index advanced by 1.1% to 1237.34 points, while the broader BG40 index closed 1.28% higher at 337.2 points. The BG REIT of real estate investment trusts added 0.27% to 94.49points, while the BG TR30 index of best performers in total return ended the day 1.46% higher at 822.43 points.

BSE’s daily turnover, however, remained low at 4.2 mln leva. The value of the block deals and other registered trades stood at 1.25 mln leva.

This week BSE’s indexes registered one of their performances in a long time. The SOFIX advanced by 6.49% on a weekly basis. The BG40 added 5.37% this week, while the BG TR30 closed 3.89% higher compared to May 10. The BG REIT index lost 0.52 on a weekly basis.

The BG40 stocks posted a strong performance this week. The market capitalization of 32 of the 40 companies included in the calculation of broader index rose over the past six days.

Moststroy was BG40’s best performer this week. The stock of the company appreciated by 39.04% to an average of 146.67 leva per share.

Moststroy’s general shareholders’ meeting will be held on June 26, the company said this week. The shareholders will discuss the increase in the capital of the company from 1.12 mln leva to 5.58 leva with own funding. Moststroy will issue a total of 4.46 mln new shares, while the shareholders will receive 4 new shares for each existing share.

Zaharni Zavodi was BG40’s second biggest advancer this week. The stock price of the company went up by 13.78% to an average of 9.66 leva per share.

Decliners included First Investment Bank (-2.2% to 7.11 leva per share), Fazerles (-1.59% to 171.37 leva per share), Bulgarian River Shipping (-1.35% to 5.13 leva per share) and etc.
