The centrist GERB party, which won yesterday’s MEP elections in Bulgaria, demanded early elections at its press conference after the local MEP elections. On the night after the elections the GERB leaders left the press conference hall angry that although the results from the elections were not clear yet, BSP and DPS agreed the sequence of their briefings.

Boyko Borisov is sure that the low election turnout is a clear sign people want a change and early elections, which he thinks would be best to be held this fall.

The absence of any resignations in the ruling coalition is undermining trust, Borisov said adding the lack of actual political subjects and the lack of responsibilities in the political parties have brought Bulgaria to the chaos it is in.

Boyko Birisov, who is GERB’s informal leader, said he relied on the young people with secondary and higher education. He said GERB’s main objective would be Bulgaria to move from its last positions by income in EU and to regain trust in justice.
