BSE Indexes End Month in Positive Territory
The turnover of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) amounted to 10.5 mln leva today, while the stock indexes ended the day with slight gains.
The SOFIX blue-hip index advanced by 0.64% to 1,254.99 points, while the broader BG40 index added 0.14% to its value closing at 354.83 points.
Nevertheless, the stock indexes have registered a considerable decline since the beginning of the year. The SOFIX has lost almost 28% of its value, while the BG40 has depreciated by 31.3%.
KRZ Odessos and Industrial Holding Bulgaria were BSE's biggest gainers today. The stock of the ship repair yard appreciated by 5.49% to 287.36 leva per share, while the holding company ended the day 2.71% higher at 7.97 leva per share.
Oil & Gas Exploration & Production's stock price went 4.9% down to 7.57 leva per share. Lead & Zinc Complex shed 3.03% of its value closing at 55.74 leva per share. Lead & Zinc Complex's profit for 2007 amounted to 13.826 mln leva the audited report of the company shows. The figure represents a considerable decrease compared to the preliminary figures announced at the end of March, which pointed to 23.447 mln leva profit.
A total of 2,272 shares in Alcomet traded hands today. The stock depreciated by 5.6% to 10.29 leva per share.
Zarneni Hrani Bulgaria was also among BSE's decliners today. The stock shed 4.36% of its value closing at 2.41 leva per share. Chimimport advanced by 1.28% to 8.71 leva per share.
BSE's new indexes closed Monday's session mixed. The BGTR30 index of best performers in total return gained 0.24% closing at 823.94 points, while the BGREIT index skidded 0.22% lower to 97.25 points.
