BSE's total turnover in August stood at 3.726 bln leva (1.905 bln euros) which is the highest ever, the bourse's monthly bulletin revealed.

The result is mainly attributed to the transfers of a 70% stake in Insurance and Reinsurance Company DZI and a 90% stake in the Bulgarian Telecommunications Company.

So far the highest turnover had been generated in December 2006 – 704.597 mln leva (360.254 mln euros), and the second best result was the 665.556 mln leva (340.293 mln euros) in November 2006.

In July 2007 turnover stood at 551.391 mln leva (281.921 mln eurosw), and in February 2007 at 495.848 mln leva (253.523 mln euros).

The total 2006 turnover stood at 3.384 bln leva (1.730 bln euros), against 3.581 bln leva (1.830 bln euros) for the preceding year.

The most liquid stocks last month were those of Lead and Zinc Complex and Eurohold Bulgaria with 2344 and 2066 transactions, respectively, followed by Chimimport, First Investment Bank, and Himko.
