This year's turnover of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange tops 8 bln leva, 4.090 bln euros (block and reported OTC transactions included), which is 150% up y/y, a report by the Financial Supervision Commission states.

On December 19, the bourse's market capitalization stood at 28.006 bln leva (14.320 mln euros), or 88.96% up compared with the same period last year, and is equal to 51.05% of the expected GDP (versus 30% in 2006).

Between January 1 and December 19, a total of 39 companies were included in the register of public companies and other issuers of stock, and 23 were delisted.

Thus, on December 19, the number of public companies and issuers of other types of stock stands at 373.

In 2007 the FSC saw a record number of IPO prospectuses – 27. This year 12 new companies got listed on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange via initial public offerings. These were Kaolin, Corporate Commercial Bank, First Investment Bank, Specialized Business Systems, Bianor, Devin, Trace Group Hold, CBA Asset Management, Enemona, Agria Group Holding. Billboard, and Zarneni Hrani Bulgaria.

12 companies floated new issues of shares, as a result of capital increases – Media Systems, Hydraulic Elements and Systems, Eurohold Bulgaria, Saedinenie Corporation for Technologies and Innovations, Advance Equity Holding, Chimimport, Industrial Holding Bulgaria, Sparky Eltos, Central Cooperative Bank, Bulgarska Roza Sevtopolis, Holding Varna, Holding Nov Vek.

Investors had the opportunity of participating in 10 SPOs. The following companies were listed on BSE via secondary public offerings – Chaikapharma High Quality Medicines, FIA Bulgaria, Bialata Laguna, Todoroff, Sofia Commerce Pawn Brokerage, Lomsko Pivo, Domokat, Etropal, Hydroizomat, Stock Plus.

This year, FSC also confirmed 27 prospectuses for public offering of bonds (including Doverie-Briko prospectus). The value of total debenture loan issued so far this year stands at 411.72 mln leva (210.50 mln euros).
