The Council of Ministers approved the draft agreement with the government of the Russian Federation for mutual protection of the rights to the results of the intellectual activity, used and acquired in the process of the bilateral military and technical cooperation as a basis of negotiations.

According to the ministers this agreement will contribute to the long-term mutual cooperation between Bulgaria and Russia in the field of arms and defense technologies.

The preparation and signing of the paper is in compliance with Bulgaria’s policy for active dialogue with the Russian Federation.

It is expected that the agreement shall be effective as of the date of its endorsement and for a period of five years.

After the decision was taken today the government authorized the Vice-minister of Defense Mr. Spas Panchev to lead the negotiations and to sign the papers
