Bulgaria is awaiting for the WB Board of Directors to approve a project for improvements on infrastructure and more specifically of water and sewerage systems in the country. To complete the project Bulgaria will apply for a loan from the WB, the Bulgarian National Radio said.

The project's total cost is estimated at 110 mln euro. It is to be implemented between 2008 and 2010. The loan's maturity is 12 months.

12 mln euros will be spent on preparation of the projects for infrastructural development in big cities such as Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Ruse.

More than 56 mln euro will go to rehabilitation and expansion of the water and sewerage systems in Dobrich, Sliven, Stara Zagora and Smolyan.

The rest of the money will be allocated for completion of dams Neikovci, Plovdivci and Luda Yana, and for the completion of a waste water treatment plant.
