Bulgaria ranks 41st in the world in terms of economic conditions, according to a study of The Swiss Institute of Effective Production.

Last year our country ranked 47nd, said the Minister of Economy and Energy Petar Dimitrov. He took part in the annual meeting between business and government A Second Decade of Growth – Risks and Opportunities.

Among the positive features of our economy are the increasing export, growing revenue form international tourism, direct foreign investment, GDP growth and the good employment rate, Minister Dimitrov pointed out. He also warned that the there is a decline of the export indicator for the first seven months of the year.

The Minister cited the work of the Bulgarian Agency For Export Insurance and the strategy for improvement of export as some of the measures taken to stimulate export.

Cheap labor is no longer cited as Bulgaria's greatest advantage. In his words Asian Countries will pose no threat for Bulgarian business, if our quality of production is better than theirs.

The high production capacity, good quality, environment sustainability, employee training and the maintenance of a strong social program that keeps good experts are of utmost importance for our economy.
