The base interest rate in the country is raised from 4.24 % to 4.26%, the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) announces.

This is the second consecutive increase after last month BIR climbed from 4.09% to 4.24%. A year ago base interest rate in the country stood at 3.19%.

We remind that at the beginning of 2007 BIR stood at 3.43%. The current level is the highest since 6 March 2002, when BIR stood at 4.43%.
