Credit Center experts forecast 300 per cent growth in loans to Bulgarians working abroad by the year's end, BTA reports. The independent loan consultants attributed a first-half 140 per cent increase in these loans to the banks' flexible approach to income verification.

The most loans were taken by Bulgarians working in Spain, 35 per cent; followed by those in Greece (22 per cent); Britain (16 per cent); Italy (15 per cent); and the United States (7 per cent). Varna, Bourgas and Sofia are the top three cities in which Bulgarians working abroad bought homes with mortgage loans in the first half of 2007.
