GDP per capita stands at 6,376.2 leva ($4,088.4). Calculated in euro, total GDP amounts to 25.1 bln euro or 3,260.1 euro per capital.
The added value generated by the subjects of Bulgaria’s national economy amounts to 39.97 bln leva. The real value of the indicator is 6% higher than its level in 2005.
Foreign-trade balance in goods and services is negative – minus 9.32 bln leva. Foreign-trade balance is formed as a result of the growing real values of import and export of goods and services. The index of the physical volume of export of goods and services is 109.0, while imports of goods and services have increased 15.2% in real terms.
GDP in the last quarter of 2006 amounted to 13.73 bln leva at current prices. Compared with the fourth quarter of 2005 the economy grew 5.7%. GDP per capita stands at 1,782.9 leva.
GDP amounts to $9.04 bln or $1,174.2 per capita (average US dollar exchange rate 1.518318 leva/$1). GDP calculated in euro amounts to 7.018 bln euro or 911.6 euro per capita.
The added value, generated by the branches of local economy, stands at 11.15 bln leva at current prices. Recalculated in comparable prices the added value has grown 5.2% from a year ago.
Foreign trade balance in goods and services is negative. Imports of goods and services exceed the value of exports by 3.826 bln leva. The value of foreign trade commodity turnover increased 11.0% in real terms. Exports of goods and services expanded 5.4%, while imports of goods and services grew 14.0% versus the same quarter in 2005.
