Bulgaria's Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) has allowed CBA Asset Management (

) of Veliko Tarnovo to acquire 100% of the capital of Varna-based Burlex 104.

Burlex 104 currently owns 11 supermarkets in Varna, Dobrich and Kavarna.

CBA Asset Management will expand its geographical presence and will operate a total of 22 stores after the deal is finalized.

There are a total of 880 stores selling fast moving consumer goods in Varna, CPC data show.

The planned acquisition will not affect negatively the market for fast moving consumer goods, according to CPC experts.

CBA Asset Management's stock was last traded on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) at a price of 3.30 leva per share.
