The Pazardjik-based accumulator manufacturer Elhim Iskra (

) posted net profit in the amount of 475,000 leva (242,863 euros) in 1H, compared with 191,000 leva (97,656 euros) a year ago, shows the company's report filed with the BSE.

Net sales revenues are up 62% from 8.535 mln leva (4.363 mln euros) to 13.822 mln leva (7.067 mln euros).

The company sold around 91,000 starter accumulator batteries in 1H which is by 37,786 more than in the respective period a year ago.

This increase is mainly due to orders by new clients and rising interest from EU clients such as Italy, Greece, Latvia, Germany, as well as Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro.

The company also sold a total of 3,087 traction batteries, or 714 more compared with 1H in 2006.

Elhim Iskra increased capital using own funds to 12.55 mln leva (6.416 mln euros). Stara Planina Hold controls 51.4% of the capital and CSP Fund Managers and Rolet Ltd have 16.55% and 9.31% respectively.
