Bulgaria's gross external debt as of end-2005 has been revised to 15.268 bln euros, which is an increase of 178.6 mln euros. The revision is mainly due to the sector Commercial Banks where debt rises by 100 mln euro. Gross external debt as of end of 2006 has been corrected to 20.37 bln euros, which is a hike of 259.1 mln leva.

The revisions are greater in the sector of Commercial Banks (100 mln euros), Other Sectors (by 81.5 mln euros) as well as revisions of external liabilities related to Direct Investments (by 96.8 mln euros).

Gross external debt as of end of 2007 has been corrected to 28.124 bln euros (up by 1.084 mln euros).

This is mainly due ti revisions on Other Sectors (by 496.8 mln euros) and revisions of liabilities related to Direct Investments (by 489.1 mln euros), the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) informs.
