Hesitant Start for Xetra on BSE as 13 of BG40's Stocks Advance This Week
Investors' cautiousness during the first week of the introduction of the Xetra trading platform on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) had a fluctuating effect on the performance of the four indexes.
The SOFIX blue-chip index moved in narrow margins throughout the week to close at 1,194.5 points on Friday, a weekly gain of 0.02%.
The broader BG40 index declined by 1.62% to 320.67 points on a weekly basis. The BGREIT index of real estate investment trusts advanced by 1.88% to 95.53 points this week. The BG TR30 index of best performers in total return lost 0.55 this week ending today's session at 800.25 points.
BSE's daily turnover remained low at 2.2 mln leva today, while the number of traded issues stood at 103. A total of 42 of the stocks ended the day with gains. The value of the block deals and other registered trades exceeded 360,000 leva.
BSE's all four indexes have declined since the beginning of the month. The SOFIX has shed 3.68% since June 2, while the BG40 is down 7.21%. The BG REIT and BG TR30 index have lost 0.38% and 4.41%, respectively.
A total of 13 of BG40's constituents posted gains this week. Polimeri was the biggest advancer over the last five sessions. The stock of the company has appreciated by 6.92% to 4.79 leva per share since June 11.
Moststroy's stock price went up by 5.59% to an average of 139.27 leva per share. The company has submitted jointly with Hochtief and Glavbolgarstroy an offer in the procedure for the construction of the second metro diameter in Sofia, as only Profit.bg reported yesterday.
Kaolin advanced by 3.3% on a weekly basis. The stock of the company appreciated to an average of 10.97 leva per share. Kaolin won a public procurement order to supply limestone to Maritsa Iztok-2 thermal power plant. The value of the public contract stands at 4.5 mln leva.
Some of BG40's losers this week included Holding Varna A (-10.22%, to 28.47 leva per share), Sparky Eltos (-8.67% to 11.7 leva per share) and Chugunoleene (-8.38% to 21.11 leva per share).
