Holding Nov Vek has bought 63,113 shares or 5.44% from the capital of Bulgarian River Shipping AD-Ruse, the Bulgarian Stock Exchange announced.

After the deal, registered in the institution on 4 May 2007, the holding’s total stake in Bulgarian River Shipping has increased to 9.33%.

Holding Nov Vek posted a profit of 2.04 mln leva in the first three months of 2007 compared to a loss of 1,000 leva a year ago.

Bulgarian River Shipping AD-Ruse will hold a general meeting of its shareholders on 21 May 2007, which is expected to vote a proposal to increase the company’s capital.

Under the proposal the capital is to be increased from 1.158 mln leva to 28.959 mln leva via the issuance of 27.8 mln new shares with a face value of 1.00 lev each using own funds. Thus each shareholder will receive 24 shares for free.

Bulgarian River Shipping registered a profit of 1.33 mln leva in the first quarter versus a loss of 296,000 leva a year ago.

The shares of Holding Nov Vek were last traded on BSE on 4 May at 5.00 leva/share. A total of 78,923 shares of Bulgarian River Shipping changed hands today at 180-181 leva/share.
