Market analysts interviewed by Profit.bg at the beginning of the week were divided in their expectations of trade in the final business week of 2007. And indeed, indexes moved in different directions, the fluctuations culminated on Wednesday. The active selling pushed down stock prices and indexes, respectively. At the end of the week, however, stocks managed to rebound and indexes saw significant gains.

SOFIX gained 2.12% today to 1767.88 points. BG40 also rose more than 2% - 2.55% to 518.06. BGREIT rose some 3.81% to 103.24. BGTR30 jumped 1.42% to 1097.48.

BSE's daily turnover stood at 35.393 mln leva (18.096 mln euros), block and other reported OTC transactions came to 2.823 mln leva (1.443 mln euros). Of 159 active issues, 108 advanced.

On a weekly basis a total of 26 stocks climbed in BG40. The biggest winner among them was First Investment Bank, which rose 6.08%, or from 10.85 to 11.51 leva. It emerged yesterday that London-based Balkan Holidays Ltd has acquired 6.71% of the bank's capital from First Financial Brokerage House in a block transaction at 1 lev.

Polimeri is the second biggest gainer this week adding 5.67%. the stock of the Devnya-based company rose from 10.59 to 11.19 leva on a weekly basis.

Decotex is third with +5.63% although it has not been among most positions lately. The sock rose from 2.84 to 3 leva since December 14.

Next is Petrol climbing 5.6% this week, or from 5 to 5.28 leva.

Central Cooperative Bank rose more than 5% in the past five days, or from 10.08 to 10.62 leva (+5.36%). Some 1.433 mln shares changed hands in one transaction at 10.64 leva today.

The following ended on negative territory: Albena Invest Holding (-5.15% to an average of 20.24 leva), Industrial Capital holding (-3.1% to 10.01 leva), Severcoop Gamza Holding (-2.82% to 4.13 leva) etc.
