Lomsko Pivo AD has invested over 3.3 mln leva in modernizations of the brewery. Investments were made mainly in two areas – purchase of new equipment and reconstruction of existing equipment and energy saving improvements on the buildings and facilities.

The brewery spent over 2.8 mln leva on new machines and improvement to existing machinery. With this the company significantly increased its production capacity as well as the quality of the products.

Lomsko Pivo invested some 500,000 leva in energy saving improvements. As a result, the company's energy costs dropped 16% in 2007.

The investments also contributed to better working conditions and safety of labor. Automation was introduced in some areas of production.

Lomsko Pivo AD is the successor of the brewery founded by the czech brothers Milotin and Hozman back in 1894, near the town of Lom. Currently the brewery is a joint stock company founded in 1997 with a trade label Almus 1894.

Lomsko Pivo produces a variety of 9 products with the labels Almus, Shopsko Pivo and Sofia. In 2005 the company sold a total of 75 010 hectolitres of beer and in 2006 – 78 700 hectolitres. Sales for the first half of 2007 are expected to reach 50 700 hectolitres.
