Peter Stoyanov or Konstantin Dimitrov could have been elected as MEPs, if they had been in one list, DSB’s leader in resignation Ivan Kostov said, quoted by the Bulgarian National Television (BNT).

He directly proposed negotiations for the bringing together and integration between DSB and SDS. He characterized as an obvious mistake the fact that the two parties ran separately in the elections.

Kostov pointed out the electorate was opposed to the separation of SDS and DSB. He said the separation between the two rightist parties was a result of SDS’s decision after the presidential elections that “we can’t be together anymore”, while DSB’s mistake was it didn’t do anything to discourage SDS, the former prime-minister admitted.

I am not deserting and I’m not running away from responsibility, but I am not stiffened into politics, Kostov said, expressing his readiness to give up his leading position in case of possible coalition.
