The SOFIX blue-chip index of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) posted its first gain for the on Wednsday. The index advanced by 0.90% to 395.28 points. BG TR30 also ended the day higher closing 0.71% up at 297.01 points. Decliners on the day included BG 40 (-0.12%, to 112.61 points) and BG REIT (-1.20%, to 40.39 points).

BSE's overall turnover came close to 675,000 leva. A total of 54 issues were traded on the day with 21 of the companies posting stock price gains.

Zarneni Hrani Bulgaria stood out on the day. The stock price of the company went up by 9.34% to 0.632 leva per share. A total of 34,401 shares in the company changed hands on the day. The stock has gained 23.68% so far in August.

BG Agro's stock shed nearly 6% to 1.49 leva per share after 200 shares traded.

Chimimport's common stock advanced by 3.11% to 2.485 leva per share. The traded volume on the position came to 22,788 shares.

Stara Planina Hold closed nearly 4.9% up to 2.36 leva per share.

Alcomet's stock price remained unchanged at 3.20 leva per share on the day. A total of 25 319 shares in the company traded hands on the day.

Sopharma was among Wednеsday's gainers. The stock price of the company went up by 2.05% to 3.98 leva per share. A total of 33 845 shares in the company changed hands on the day.

Bulgarska Roza-Sevtopolis slipped by 0.68% to 1.45 leva per share.
