The calculation methodology of the index was amended this February, the main change being the inclusion of free-float and average-weight factors for each company.
Monbat AD’s adding was scheduled for April 2nd because of the requirement for the SOFIX emissions to have been traded on the official and unofficial market for no less than 3 months prior to their adding.
The daily value of the SOFIX is calculated as its base value is multiplied by the ratio of the sum of the corrected by the divisor, the weight factor and by the free-float of each company market capitalisations of all issues in the index portfolio as of the current moment, towards the sum of the corrected by the weight factor and the free-float market capitalisations as of the base moment.
The companies’ market capitalization must not exceed 15 per cent of the total market capitalization of SOFIX. For this reason The Bulgarian Telecommuinications company which has the largest market capitalization within the BSE was appointed a weight factor of 0.3806.
