As you already know there are 41 Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) listed on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, and their market capitalization is well over 810 mln leva (414.1 mln euros).

According to data from yesterday trade session, the marekt capitalization of 3 REITs exceeds 100 mln leva (51.129 mln euros) – these are Sopharma Properties, Elana Agricultural Land Fund and Bulgaria Real Estate REIT.

But which funds are the most profitable? Profit.bg ranks Bulgarian REITs in terms of returns and increase in price.

It is interesting that the leading companies in our chart – Elana Agricultural Land REIT and Advance Terafund, both invest in agricultural land. The returns on their shares year-to-date stand at 50.39% and 48.8%, respectively.

The SOFIX index has added 13.6% since the beginning of the year, and BG40 gained 51.07%.

If you bought shares of Fair Play Properties at the end of 2006, you would have gained 46.53% today. Agro Hinance and Transinvestment also make it into the top 5.

14 REITs have realized positive results year-to-date, while there is no change on the positions of 4 of them. 6 of the companies post negative results - the leaders in trems of market capitalization Sopharma Properties and Bulgarian Investment Group have lost 34.6% and 35.00%, respectively, this year.

The rest of the REITs have not been registered for trade on the stock exchange towards the end of 2006.
