As of 30 April 2007 the revenues, collected by the National Revenue Agency, reached 3,600 bln leva, the agency’s CEO Maria Murgina said at a press conference.

This sum includes revenues under the republican budget – 2,300 bln leva, as well as revenues from social security contributions – 1,300 bln leva.

Murgina pointed out that compared to the first four months of 2006 corporate tax revenues have grown by 302 mln leva or 51.5%. A year-on-year increase of 16.2% was registered in revenues from social security contributions.

As of 4 may 2007 the regional offices of NRA had received 1,002,379 income tax returns and 163,000 corporate tax returns. Between 1 January and 31 March the agency issued 107,000 certificates for lack or presence of liabilities, as well as 200,000 other certificates.

A total of 10,300 corporate tax returns were submitted via the Internet this year (compared to 857 last year). The number of physical persons income tax returns submitted via the internet using electronic signatures in the same period was 4,200 from 258 a year ago.

A total of 1,800 people had paid their taxes via the internet by the end of last week using debit cards. Their total amounted to almost 387,000 leva.

Of the 1,002 379 accepted income tax returns for 2006, nearly 300,000 applied for family income taxation. About 60% of the received tax refund requests have already been processed. Almost 400,000 of the income tax returns were filed in the last possible day – 16 April.
