The market capitalization of only two of the companies listed on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) stood at over 1 bln leva (511.3 mln euros) at the end of yesterday's session, compared to eight as at the end of October 2007, Profit.bg data show.
The Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC) is scheduled to be delisted from BSE, which means that Chimimport will remain the only company with market capitalization of over 1 bln leva.
BTC currently tops the ranking in terms of market capitalization with 3 bln leva (1.53 bln euros), followed by Chimimport with 1.28 bln leva (654.45 mln leva) and Bulgarian American Credit Bank, which has a market value of 895 mln leva (457.6 mln leva).
All five banks listed on BSE are among the top ten companies in terms of market capitalization.
The combined market capitalization of the top 20 companies stood at 13.84 bln leva (7.07 bln euros) as at April 2. The figure accounts for nearly 60% of the market value of all companies listed on BSE's .
Holding Roads is the only infrastructure company to make it into the top 20, after Trace Group Hold lost substantial part of its market value in the recent moths.
BSE's market capitalization amounts to 23.23 bln leva (11.87 bln euros), after reaching nearly 30 bln leva (15.33 bln euros) in its heyday.
