Property prices in Plovdiv may add up to 15% this year, according to prognoses announced by Foros National Real Estate Company, its chairman Dobromir Tonev told the press today.

Currently the average price for a square meter of property in the central parts of the city is around 1,200 euros. However, real estate in the downtown areas is not likely to appreciate any further, according to the prognoses.

Demand for properties in the Smirnenski and Karshiaka areas is greatest, and the hikes there are expected to reach 25%.

Interest in panel buildings is also growing due to the convenient locations and good infrastructure of these neighborhoods.

The peak is expected to be on the office segment. The price in the city's main streets and boulevards currently reaches 3,500 euros/m2.

Land near Plovdiv has not and is not expected to appreciate much. The most expensive villa areas are near the villages of Markovo, Belashtica, and Hrabrino – 35 euros/m2, BTA added.
