The clients of two banks – Raiffeisen Bank and Economic and Investment Bank, made the highest turnover in August – 4.051 bln leva (2.071 bln euros) and 1.545 bln leva (789.9 mln euros) respectively, BSE's monthly bulletin reveals.

Deals made via Bulbrokers also passed the 1 bln leva threshold to reach 1.187 bln leva (606.9 mln euros). Unicredit Bulbank and First Financial Brokerage House also make it in the top 5 with transactions generating 78.7 mln leva (40.2 mln euros) and 67.49 mln leva (34.5 mln euros), respectively.

IP Karoll leads the chart in terms of turnover with a total of 16,123 deals, followed by Elana Trading (7305) and BenchMark Finance (7062). These three intermediaries also boast the most COBOS certificates at the end of August as BSE Sofia reported last week.

Next come Ug Market and Bulgarian Post Bank whose clients made respectively 4775 and 4046 deals last month.

A total of 43,829 transactions were made on the BSE in August, which is an average of 1906 a day. The total amount they generated stood at 3.726 bln leva (1.905 bln euros).
