Revenue from mining concessions on the territory of Bulgaria for the year 2006 stands at 20,478,269 leva (10,470,372 euros), nearly 7 million leva more than in 2005, BTA reports.This is stated in a report of the Minister of Economy and Energy summarising the annual reports of the commissions that control the awarded concessions for mining, the government information service said Thursday.

By December 31, 2006, there were a total of 75 concessions for mining metal ores, production technological waste from mining, mineral depots and rock and marble quarries. Revenue from extraction of metal ores stands at 12,966,647 leva (6.629 mln euros), and that from the extraction of minerals - at 2,928,660 leva (1.497 mln euros).Concessionaires have reported investments exceeding 77.9 million leva (39.829 mln euros).

By the end of 2006, the Minister of Economy and Energy concluded 13 contracts for extraction of oil and gas and 19 - for extraction of solid fuels (three have yet to become effective). Revenue from the concessions for extraction of oil and gas stands at 2,869,641 leva (1.467 mln euros) and for solid fuels - at 1,713,319 leva (876,006 euros).
