SEECP Justice and Home Affairs Ministers to Meet in Sofia on April 30

A Meeting of the Ministers of Justice and Home Affairs of the States Participating in the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) will take place in Sofia on April 30 within the framework of the SEECP Bulgarian Chairmanship-on-Office, the Bulgarian Justice Ministry said on Friday.

The forum will be co-hosted by Bulgarian Justice Minister Miglena Tacheva and Interior Minister Mihail Mikov.

Taking part in the meeting will be the Justice Ministers of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Croatia and Montenegro and the Interior Ministers of Albania, Bosnia and
Herzegovina, Moldova and Croatia. Of the remaining SEECP Participating States, Greece, Romania and Turkey will be represented by Deputy Ministers and State Secretaries of the respective ministries, whereas Serbia has not confirmed its participation.

The forum will also be attended by delegations of the Slovenian Presidency of the EU and of the Council of Europe, and by representatives of Interpol, Eurojust, the Regional Cooperation
Council and UNMIK.

The principal topic to be discussed at the meeting is "Challenges Facing Police and Legal Cooperation in Criminal Matters. Extradition and European Arrest Warrant."

Discussions will be held in two round tables: "Challenges to Police Cooperation in SEECP. Harmonization of National Legislation with Legal instruments of Council of Europe and
European Union. Building administrative Capacity", and "Strengthening of Legal Cooperation in Execution of Requests for Extradition and European Arrest Warrant".
