SOFIX Declines Despite Blue Chip Gains

After a promising start in the morning, indexes ended the day disappointingly. The only falling indicator this morning was BGREIT, but at the end of the day all but SOFIX managed to end on positive territory. The blue chip indicator lost 0.22% to 1381.29 points.

All 16 blue chips advanced on a daily basis, five of them recorded double-digit gains. We have to take into account that the most important factor in the calculation of indexes on BSE is not the average price, but the price of the last transactions.

BG40 added 1.02% to 399.37 points. BGREIT rose 1.13% to 98.6, and BGTR30 gained 1.23% to 888.36.

BSE's daily turnover stood at 19.846 mln leva (10.147 mln euros), block and other reported OTC transactions came to 2.933 mln leva (1.499 mln euros). 98 out of 125 active issues today ended on green.

Sparky Eltos surged 13.03% to an average of 14.26 leva. Other serious gainers today were: Industrial Holding Bulgaria (+10.72% to 8.56 leva), M+S Hydraulic (+27.63% to 11.49 leva), Monbat (+10.92% to 23.65 leva), and Orgachim (+13.24% to 538.58). Eurohold Bulgaria added 13.86% to 5.67 leva. The holding announced 2007 non-consolidated results today. 103,593 shares between 5.39 and 6.1 leva.

Infrastructure companies also managed to rebound. The market value of Holding Patishta grew 14.29% to an average of 1212.61 leva. Moststroy rose 13.05% after 1,084 shares changed hands at an average of 172.53.

Trace Group Hold climbed 9.06%. The average price on the position of the Stara Zagora-based holding reached 196.45 leva. Transstroy Bulgaria added 14.04% to 520 leva at a turnover of just 10 shares.

Trade on the position of Bulstrad was more active, 1,114 shares changed hands at prices between 182 and 199 leva, which means the average price rose 14.9% to 185.94 leva.

As we informed earlier, the management of Bulstrad will seek shareholders' approval of redemption of shares of Wiener Staedtische Versicherung AG in insurer Bulgarian Properties worth a total of 22.144 mln leva (11.322 mln euros).

Enemona and CBA Asset Management, which both debuted on the stock exchange today, ended on positive territory. Enemona added 5.18% over the IPO price. 325,641 shares changed hands today at levels between 16 and 150 leva. The average price settled at 17.67 leva. The last transactions for the day were at 17 leva. CBA rose 8.11% to an average of 4 leva.

Etropal lost 0.13% to 7.73 leva. The company announced non-consolidated earnings today in the amount of 1.244 mln leva (approx. 636,047 euros), versus 475,000 leva a year ago.
