Stock indexes ended the last session of the week on positive territory. Daily turnover today (15 mln leva, 7.6 mln euros) was unusually high for mid-August.

The transfer of stakes in Bulgarian-American Credit Bank accounted for the bulk of today's turnover. 203,000 shares traded hands today at an average of 52.32 leva, bringing the stock price up 0.8%.

BG40 climbed 1% to 258.02 points, while SOFIX added 0.25% to 1 037.91 points.

Trade in First Investment Bank and Eurohold Bulgaria was very active. Both positions are among the several that met the criteria for short selling and margin trade.

98,000 FIBank shares changed hands at an average price of 5.88 leva. The turnover on the position of the insurer stood at 24,000 shares.

Chimimport gained 1.2% to 8.7 leva at a turnover of 65,000 shares.

The interest in the stock of larger holdings is to an extent due to approaching deadline for release of consolidated H1 reports (the end of the month).

An other reason may be the fact that many traders are coming back from their vacations.

Orgachim managed to rebound to a certain extent after suffering heavy losses yesterday. The stock added nearly 4% today ending the week at 183 leva.
