Another Week of Records on BSE Comes to End
Yet another positive week for the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) has come to an end. The SOFIX continued to climb to new 2009 highs. The blue-chip index advanced by 0.74%, to 484.85 points today.
The broader BG 40 gained 1.44%, to 131.28 points, while BG TR30 advanced by 0.32%, to 357.35 points. BG REIT was the only decliner on the day slipping by 0.67%, to 45.68 points.
The weekly change is as follows: SOFIX (+5.90%, to 484.85 points), BG 40 (+3.93%, to 131.28 points), BG REIT (+2.030%, to 45.68 points) and BG TR30 (+4.71%, to 357.35 points).
The performance of the indexes in September is as follows: SOFIX (+5.11%), BG 40 (+2.39%), BG REIT (+3.30%) and BG TR30 (+3.89%).
SOFIX is the best performing index in 2009 gaining 35.18%. BG TR30 follows with а 30.98-percent advance, while BG 40 is up 21.77%. BG REIT is down 5.87%.
A total of 31 of the companies included in the calculation of the BG40 index posted weekly stock price advances.
Bulgarian-American Credit Bank was the best performer over the week. The stock of the bank appreciated by 20.76% to 18.67 leva per share. Toplivo (+18.96%, to an average price of 5.71 leva per share) and Neochim (+9.83%, to an average price of 38.99 leva) followed.
The biggest decliners over the week included Petrol (-5.45%, average price of 5.20 leva), Etropal (-2.76%, average price 1.76 leva) and BenchMark Fund Estates (-2.50%, average price of 0.39 leva per share).
