The bridge across the Maritza River in Stamboliyski will be opened tomorrow, Nove Holding's press service reported. Among the officials attending the ceremony will be PM Sergey Stanishev, Transport Minister Petar Mutafchiev, the Governor of the District of Plovdiv Todor Petkov, and the CEO of the Republican Road Infrastructure Fund Vesko Georgiev.

The bridge is part of the republican ІІІ – 866 road, which connects Trakiya Highway with the І-8 road, and the towns of Stambiliyski, Devin, and Pamporovo. The project is financed by the republican budget, as part of the reconstruction program of the Republican Road Infrastructure Fund Plovdiv. The total value of construction came to 4.188 mln leva (2.141 mln euros).

The chief executor of the project is Moststroy AD, and executor is Plovdiv-based Patishta AD. Construction took 16 months, 3 of which were devoted to the demolition of the old bridge.

A total of 2,200 sqm with 170 m width will be launched into exploitation. 1,004 cubic meters of concrete and 150 tonnes of reinforced steel were used in the construction.
