The steering committee of the campaign to choose the global Bulgarian symbols suggests making the initiative part of the state policy of presenting Bulgaria to the world, BTA reported.

The organizers of the campaign, the Bulgarian Association for Business and Tourist Information, presented the third stage of the campaign at a news conference on Wednesday.

In the third stage of the campaign the shortlisted symbols and the winning one will be further promoted. At the final voting in the campaign on June 29, the Madara Horsemen garnered the highest number 25.44 per cent. The Cyrillic alphabet came second with 21.96 per cent, the Tsarevets Fortress (Second Bulgarian Kingdom) was third with 15.3 per cent, the Bulgarian rose and rose oil was fourth with 10.16 per cent and the Rila Monastery - fifth with 8.95 per cent.

The organizers of the campaign expect from the state institutions to provide funding to achieve the goals of the initiative, better image of Bulgaria and more and better tourists visiting it.

In September the campaign launches an attractive tour called "The Symbol of My Birthplace" to discover the most popular regional symbols. The tour will be made by road, railway by
boat along the Danube and by air to the Black Sea.
