The capitalization of the 20 largest companies on BSE declined by more than 3.25 bln leva to 15.3 bln leva (7.822 bln euros), according to statistics by BSE.

BSE's total capitalization currently stands at 25.5 bln leva (13.037 bln euros), and that of the 20 largest companies accounts for 60% of it.

At the end of 2007 the top 20 companies in terms of market capitalization accounted for 64% of BSE's total market value (18.57 bln leva, 9.494 bln euros).

The Bulgarian Telecommunications Company, which is still public, is valued at 2.66 bln leva (1.36 bln euros). After the tender offer trade on the position has not been active.

Chimimport and First Investment Bank are in the top three companies in Bulgaria in terms of market value with respectively 1.68 bln and 1.13 bln leva.

Next are Sopharma and Bulgarian-American Credit Bank with 993 mln leva and 837 nlm leva respectively.

Eurohold Bulgaria is at the bottom of the top 20 with 365 mln leva. The company ranked 20th at the end of 2007 as well, back then its capitalization stood at 426 mln leva.

Kremikovtzi remains just outside the top 20 with 352 mln leva (179 mln euros).

The blue chip index SOFIX has lost 19% since the start of 2008.
