The business week was gone before I even realized it. Now it's time for our traditional weekend meeting and as always, I'm on a romantic and very positive tune, and if I can make you feel the same way, I would be one of the happiest editors in Sofia.

This time I have chosen a very quiet and beautiful place. A writer had once said something like “You should get to know your own country first, then you will fall in love with it.” This place is the proof. Once you get to know it, you will fall in love with it.

I am talking about Pamporovo House. Isn't it a wonderful name, “cute” as kids say these days. The guest house is situated at the southern foot of Mount Snejanka in Pamporovo, near the Lakes of Smolyan, which gave the name of the area – Ezerovo (“ezero” means “lake” in Bulgarian). I have been to the Lakes of Smolyan many times and I advice everyone to do the same.

Pamporovo House is a guest house situated just 240 km away from Sofia (not far to travel by car). There are so many things to do there, one can never get bored in Pamporovo, trust me!

All sorts of walking trips, excursions, fishing trips and picnics are organized in the area.

Not to mention the magnificent caves you can visit in the Rhodope Mountains. The caves are something one must definitely visit in their lifetime. Don't forget to pack warm clothes for that adventure, the temperature inside is 5 degrees Celsius even when it is 40 degrees outside. The most famous ones are Diavolskoto Garlo (The Devil's Throat), Yagodinskata Cave, Uhlovitsa and others. If you decide to stay in the Pamporovo House you will not be far from these, or from other tourist attractions, such as the Trigrad Gorge, the Buinovsko Gorge, and the Wonder Bridges (Chudnite Mostove)...

The magnificent vistas are something you will always keep in your memory. I, myself, remember them as if it was yesterday when I first saw them, and , yet, every time I go there, I am completely mesmerized again.

After all you can go to luxurious hotels in any city, you can go to fine restaurants in any city, you can party in clubs till the morning comes in any city, but there are certain things in life, to which only the beauty of Mother Nature can open your eyes.

Now, back to the hotel and to more pragmatic things as money. You won't need to spend a lot of it for accommodation. A double room at Pamporovo House costs 22 leva per person. If you have decided to spend more time there, you should know that there is a 5% discount when you book more than 4 nights. There is also a 5% discount for children.

That was my suggestion this week. This time I won't be keeping you with my usual philosophical deviations at the end. I will simply wish you have as much fun as I did when I went to Pamporovo.

Actually, I'm sure you will.
