The busy weekdays are once agian over, which means you finally have time to devote entirely to yourself. I will tell you about a place I recently visited and loved, and I guarantee that if you decide to spend the weekend there you will love it too.

You may have never heard of the village of Kovatchevitsa, situated in the western Rhodope Mountains, just 22 km away from the town of Gotse Delcjev, but it is a place worth seeing. In order to reach it, you must be patient, since the old road leading to the village is not very comfortable, but once you get there, you will know it was worth the effort.

The asphalt is old, uneven and drivers must be careful with the numerous holes in it. I didn't let that spoil my trip, and I recommend you do the same. The White House hotel is one of the most charming places in the wonderful Rhodope Mountains. I very often write about the Rhodope Mountains and those who have been there must know why.

The Hotel building is new, but it was built in the authentic style of old Bulgarian houses and recreates the atmosphere and charm of old times. The hotel restaurant is famous with exceptional meals and the chef who is able to satisfy all tastes.

The restaurant offers excellent wine and homemade Bulgarian brandy (rakiya). Once you try them, you will never bother to remember the difficult journey to the village again.

The hotel itself has 9 double rooms with individual bathrooms, satellite TV and wireless internet. There is a hall suitable for conferences, business meetings, and seminars. A garden barbecue adds to the coziness and style of the place.

In the end, of course, it is time I mention the hotel rates. Double rooms cost 50 leva (25.56 euros) per night and if you wish to be alone in a room, you can book a single at 35 leva (17.90 euros). There is no charge for childern under the age of 2.

Now that's what it is like in words. And word can't describe what it is like being there. So I suggest you pack your bags and have a great time this weekend!
