The Bosnian subsidiary UNIQA Osiguranje d.d. succeeded in increasing the premium volume accounted by 26% to €13.6 million according to preliminary data 2007. This puts the growth of this company, which has been part of UNIQA Group since 2005, at over twice the market average of 12%.

With this exceptional premium growth, the market share increased to roughly 9%, making UNIQA number 6 among the 15 insurance companies currently operating in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the non-life segment, UNIQA achieved a premium volume of €9.2 million in Bosnia – 24% more than in the previous year. The area of life insurance exhibited even stronger growth with an increase of 32% to €4.4 million. With a market share of 17%, UNIQA Osiguranje is currently the third-largest life insurance company in Bosnia.

Senada Olevic, CEO of UNIQA Osiguranje: “We are very pleased with our above-average growth – which we achieved purely organically – especially since it originates primarily from high-quality areas such as apartment and home insurance as well as life insurance. Our new product offerings for bank sales also made an important contribution here. We intend to excel in all our segments with new products during the coming year and are also planning dynamic expansion of our sales network.”

In addition to the two regional administrative offices in Sarajevo and Tuzla, UNIQA Osiguranje d.d. is represented by more than 30 branches throughout the entire Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. More than 161 salaried employees service more than 19,000 customers.

UNIQA Group Austria, according to preliminary results for the financial year 2007, has achieved a premium volume of €5.3 billion, which represents a growth of 3.3% compared to the year 2006, and EBT (IFRS) of €340 million, which represents a growth of 43%.

UNIQA Group Austria, which is a market leader in Austria, now generates around one third of its premiums from markets outside of Austria. The company is present in 20 European countries, from Baltic Sea to Mediterranean and Black Sea.
