This is what trade on the Bulgarian Stock Exchanege was like exactly seven years ago: six emissions were traded back then – those of Sinergon Holding, Doverie United holding, Rositsa Auto Repairs, Mirolio lana (I hear this one for the first time, I looked it up - it turns out to be a wool fabrics manufacturer), Solvey – sodi and Vela Shumen.

Most people today are familiar with just two of these – Sinergon Holding and Doverie which are the only companies still traded today.

1,107 lots changed hands seven years ago and the daily turnover stood at just 2,250 leva.

And this is how BSE trade looks like seven years later: 1136 deals were made today (14 June 2007) in which 754 316 lots changed hands - 680 times more than seven years ago.

Today BSE turnover stood at 6.048 mln leva or more than 2,600 times than in 2000.

Seven years ago the SOFIX index did not exist, its base level of 100 points starts 23 October 2000 at 100 points. Today it closed at 1347.41 points.
