The Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) yesterday released statistical data on Bulgarian capital market for 2007 Q2. The information reveals that 37.07% of the capital of public companies in the country is controlled by foreign investors.

Below you can see the chart of the 20 Bulgarian companies whose capital is mostly foreign-owned. Euroterra Bulgaria tops the list with 100% foreign-owned capital, according to FSC.

Three companies have more than 99% of their capital in the hands of investors outside Bulgaria - these are Dominant Finance, Drujba Staklarski Zavodi, and Bulgarian Telecommunications Company.

Original AD, Korado-Bulgaria, Belovo Paper Mill and Sviloza, are more than 96% foreign-owned.

13 companies are 90% controlled by foreign investors, and 17 are 80% foreign-owned.

Orgachim, Luk REIT and Alfa Wood Bulgaria are runners up to the top 20. They have 74-75% of their capital in the hands of non-Bulgarian investors.
