Another negative week passed on BSE. SOFIX recorded an eighth consecutive decline today. The blue chip index fell 2.7% in the past five days and ended the week at 1660.13 points, versus 1705.88 points last Friday.

BGTR30 also declined on a weekly basis. The indicator dropped 1.99% today to 1053.64, compared with 1075.01 on January 4.

In spite of ending on positive territory several days this week, on a weekly basis, BGREIT fell from 106.28 to 103.55 or 2.6%.

BG40 was the biggest decliner among indexes on BSE. The broad indicator fell 3.9% from 507.45 on January 4 to 487.54 today.

BSE's daily turnover stood at 9.736 mln leva (4.977 mln euros). 45 out of 128 active issues advanced today. Block and other reported OTC transactions resulted in 1.326 mln leva (677,973 euros).

Seven out of the forty BG40 components ended the week with advances, and one remained unchanged.

Zaharni Zavodi was the biggest gainer this week, adding 5.69% from 13.71 to 14.49 leva.

The company expects 2007 consolidated sales to amount to 90 mln leva (46.016 mln euros). The total volume of ethyl alcohol production last year came to 7 mln liters, which almost three times the production volume in 2006. Zaharni Zavodi expects revenue from alcohol sales to top 12% of the total consolidated sales of the group, which is projected at 90 mln leva.

Polimeri is the second best performer in BG40 this week. Shares rose 3.78% from 10.58 leva to 10.98 leva.

Emka gained 2.48% or 0.38 leva to an average of 15.69 leva.

The following managed to eke less than 1% this week: Advance Terrafund REIT (0.47% to an average of 2.14 leva), Elana Agricultural Land Opportunity REIT (0.44% to 2.3 leva), Doverie United Holding (0.36% to 13.99 leva) and Bulgarian-American Bank (0.25% to an average of 75.19 leva).

There was no change on the position of First Investment Bank, the stock closed at 11.39 leva today.

Fazerles was the biggest decliner, falling 7.76% to 290.1 leva. M+S Hydraulic also suffered a serious slide, from 13.67 to 12.84 leva.

Bulgarian River Shipping AD lost 5.65% to 8.69 leva this week. Euroins fell 5.11% and closed at 15.59 leva on Friday, while Industrial Holding Bulgaria lost 5% to 10.26 leva.
