The highest recorded monthly salary in Serbia was EUR 4.940, while the lowest stood at just EUR 31, showed data released by the Serbian Statistical Office, Serbia & Montenegro Today reports.

The lowest salary went to a worker employed in the optical instruments manufacturing, while Belgrade Airport Nikola Tesla head, as he himself confirmed, earned around EUR 5.000, almost 18 average Serbian salaries.

The sum also amounts to more than 40 average salaries in Bela Palanka, and more than four times the sum earned by the president or the prime minister. Serbia's average net salaries in February amounted to a little over EUR 300.
