BSE's Market Capitalization Exceeds 20 bln Leva For The First Time

With the floating of the stock of First Investment Bank (FIB) today, and of Corporate Commercial Bank (CCB) a week ago, the market capitalization of public companies in Bulgaria exceeds 20 bln leva (10.225 bln euros) for the first time in history, and it stood at 20.523 bln leva (10.493 bln euros) today.
The market capitalization of FIB and CCB together stands at 1.805 bln leva (922 881 845 euros), shows data provided by BSE.
BSE's market capitalization has increased by more than 5 bln leva, or 34%, year-to-date, and it currently accounts for 39.27% of gross domestic product.
At the end of 2006 the market value of public companies stood at 15.314 bln leva (7.830 bln euros), or 31.2% of GDP, compared with 8.343 bln leva (4.265 bln euros), or 21.11% of GDP for the previous year.
The stock of 373 companies is traded on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange – 16 of the emissions are traded on the official, and 357 on the unofficial market. 20 emissions have been floated since the beginning of the year, 11 of them are of Real Estate Investment Tsusts (REITs). 14 emissions of bonds and the shares of three mutuals funds have also been registered with the BSE this year.
SOFIX ended today's trade at 1378.12 points. The index gained 56.17% year-on-year, and 12.58% year-to-date. The broad indicator BG40 has added 89.98% to 297.54 points year-on-year, and 48.86% year-to-date.
Orders for the IPO of Bianor AD will be accepted this week (Monday, 25 June - Friday, 29 June). An auction for the sell-off of 20% of the capital of Lomsko Pivo will be held in the following weeks. Billboard AD will make an official presentation before investors and journalists on Wednesday.
