SOFIX Adds 6.43% This Week, Closes At 1500 Points Today
For the first time in the history of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange the main index SOFIX passed 1500 points. The blue chips indicator surged 90.76% on a weekly basis and 6.43% today to 1502.37 points.
The broad indicator BG40 added a minimum of 0.07% today, and 2.88% over the week to 318.82 points.
Although SOFIX increased, most of its companies ended today's session on negative territory.
The stock of Bulgarian Telecommunications Company was the main contributor to SOFIX's jump. The shares added 4.79% to an average of 11.81 leva.
Meanwhile Albena dipped 5.42% to 121.38 leva, and Neochim dropped 2.3% to 50.23 leva.
Monbat lost 1.27% to an average price of 14.78 leva, 9 718 lots changed hands on the position.
Stara Planina and Doverie United Holding lost 2.49% and 2.94%, to 8.22 and 7.26 leva respectively.
Chimimport gained 2.13% to 14.37 leva, with 54 139 shares transferred today.
Kaolin announced its first half non-consolidated report today. According to it, the company's pre-tax profit for the period stands at 12.1 mln leva (6.186 mln euros). The results boosted trade on the position and with more than 64,000 lots transferred, the stock added 3.83% to14.65 leva today.
The shares of First Investment Bank and Corporate Commercial Bank both dropped today – by 1.08% and 1.18%, respectively, to 13.72 leva and 87.90 leva/share.
BSE's turnover was nearly 10 mln leva (5.113 mln euros) today. 52 companies traded their stock on negative territory and 51 on positive.
